BOSTON, MA — Boston City Councilors voted unanimously Wednesday to raise their pay by $21,500, $10,000 more than the proposed hike, reported NBC 10 Boston.

The vote means city councilors will now make $125,000 a year, up from $103,500, starting in 2024 after the next local election.

The change also increases the mayor’s salary by double the city council’s rate, as per statute. The mayor elected in 2025 will therefore make $250,000 instead of $207,000.
