Local Company Hiding Condom-Filled 'Pokéballs' at Boston Poké-Walk
Don't Pokémon without protection...

BOSTON, MA — When on the hunt for Pokémon Go, there are a few things to remember: leave the house with your phone battery fully charged, don't forget to stock up on pokéballs, and always use protection.
That last bit of advice comes from ONE Condoms, a Boston-based company that's launching a kind of sex safety scavenger hunt in tandem with a "poké-walk" that's expected to attract thousands of the popular mobile game-players to downtown Boston.
Milla Impola, a ONE spokeswoman, explained by email Friday:

"At the heart of ONE is starting condom conversations in interesting, relevant, and fun ways. Our goal is to break down the stigma and taboos that still exist when it comes to conversations about healthy sexuality. We’re passionate about helping people to have fun, pleasurable, positive experiences with condoms.
"By meeting people where they are, we can start condom conversations. And where are people now? Most likely playing Pokémon GO."

Also, she said, "Pokéballs are round — just like our ONE Condom wrappers" (something that sets them apart from other, square-wrapped brands). That and, like the rest of the world, its staff is "obsessed" with the game, she said.
ONE Condoms will be stashing its own branded "pokéballs" full of condoms and prizes at the game's hot spots around Boston Common and elsewhere Saturday, in tandem with the Boston Poké-Walk event.
The two events are not affiliated, but with RSVP'd attendees near 5,000 for the informal Pokémon Go meetup, ONE Condoms saw an opportunity.
