BOSTON — A 19-year-old man from Boston was arrested and charged Wednesday night in connection with a shooting that took place outside a Wendy's restaurant in Randolph earlier that day.
Marlon Raymond Jr., 19, of Roxbury, was arrested and charged with armed assault with intent to murder, multiple assault and battery charges, multiple illegal firearm charges, malicious destruction of property, and tampering with evidence.
On Wednesday, Randolph police responded to Wendy's restaurant at 14 Condlin Drive after receiving reports of a shooting. The suspect took off on foot, prompting a search with the help of a Braintree and Weymouth Police K-9 unit, but the team was not immediately able to find him, Randolph Police Chief Anthony Marag said.
Detectives collected evidence from the scene, including 9mm shell casings, and K-9 teams eventually found a loaded gun with a high-capacity magazine hidden inside a bandana in the woods nearby.

Through an investigation, police were able to connect Raymond to both the suspect and the scene, Marag said.
Police say Raymond returned to the area where the firearm was found between 5:30 and 6 p.m. He was taken into custody without incident. A knife was found on him during a search, according to Marag.
Raymond was taken to the Randolph police station for booking.
During his arraignment on Thursday, Raymond entered a not guilty plea to all charges. He was ordered to be held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on May 11.
