Boston Police Seeking Public's Help After Cruiser Targeted in 'Deliberate Act'

"Clearly this is a deliberate act with the intent of blowing up one of our cruisers," Police Commissioner William Evans said.

Boston Police say someone appears to have intentionally targeted a police cruiser outside a South Boston substation with some kind of incendiary device early Friday morning.

Police Commissioner William Evans said an officer saw flames and what appeared to be a propane tank near his cruiser. Police later said officers "observed and recovered evidence of what appeared to be an incendiary device that appeared to have been placed next to the police vehicle." The vehicle was moved, but photos from the scene show fire shooting up in the same spot, moments later.

"Clearly this is a deliberate act with the intent of blowing up one of our cruisers,” Evans told reporters on the scene.
