Boston, MA - Boston Public Schools Superintendent Tommy Chang hosts a budget forum for students Tuesday, "to provide them a space to learn more about the budget appropriations process, as well as to raise concerns and ask questions. Interpretation services will be available," according to a press release.
The meeting follows a hundreds-strong school walkout in May, where students and parents testified before a Common Council committee for hours. School leadership did not sanction the walkout, and Mayor Marty Walsh condemned it.
The BPS community budget meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m., to be held at Roxbury's Bruce Bolling Municipal Building, 2300 Washington St., in the second floor School Committee Room.
