Boston Ranked 'Best City For Book Lovers'

We have the most bookstores per person and a great library lending system, according to the national ranking.

BOSTON, MA — Adjust your glasses and wave your bookmarks in the air, Boston. A new ranking has named us the "Best City for Book Lovers," based on the numerous book stores, libraries and more.

SmartAsset.com compiled the measurements, based on the numbers of libraries, book stores, book clubs and book club members in different cities. That's meant to measure both the availability of books and "opportunity for a shared reading experience," according to SmartAsset.

Boston came in at No. 1, after scoring in the top ten of each category mentioned and ranking No. 1 for book stores per 10,000 residents.
