Boston's Silvertone Back From The Dead After COVID-19 Closure
The popular underground restaurant and bar near Boston's Downtown Crossing is reopening with limited hours.
BOSTON — A few months ago, like many other Boston bars and restaurants, Silvertone's fate was up in the air.
But despite the setback from losing most of its staff and customers to the pandemic, Silvertone is officially open for business again.
Silvertone started with a soft opening last week, to try to catch the staff up to speed after a long hiatus. The beloved restaurant in the heart of the city has been closed since the beginning of the pandemic.

Word of opening up hit back in May, and the restaurant's Facebook page has been hinting towards an early fall opening.
Created when the restaurant first shut down, their website still has a GoFundMe link to the Silvertone employee "Stay Afloat" fund created when they first shut down.

"As you know in the restaurant business our front of house relies on tips and our kitchen staff usually has multiple jobs," the owners said in the fund. "Any donations will go directly to all staff for personal bills and expenses in this time."
Due to short staffing, the restaurant will be operating at limited hours, Wednesday-Saturday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
They are also taking new applications. Interested parties can call 617-338-7887.
