'Corona Free:' Marcus Smart Cleared After Coronavirus Diagnosis
The Celtics' Marcus Smart, who was the first Boston athlete to be diagnosed with the coronavirus, has been cleared.

The Celtics' Marcus Smart, who two weeks ago became the first Boston athlete to be diagnosed with the coronavirus, said he has been cleared. Smart announced Sunday night on Twitter the Massachusetts Department of Public Health cleared him.
"Corona Free as of two days ago. Cleared by Mass Dept of Health," Smart said. "Thanks for everyone’s thoughts and prayers and I’m doing the same for everyone that’s been effected by this. Stay safe and stay together- apart! Much love!"
Smart was the only Celtic to test positive for COVID-19 after the team was evaluated. He was with the Celtics in Milwaukee when the NBA suspended its season after Utah Jazz star Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19; The Celtics played the Jazz the previous week.

Smart had been doing well, coach Brad Stevens recently told reporters. Smart said he had been asymptomatic.
A unidentified Red Sox minor leaguer is the only other professional sports players in Boston for whom a positive was announced.
