Death on Downer Avenue Tuesday Evening: Boston Police

The victim was reportedly shot.

BOSTON, MA — A man in his early twenties was found Tuesday evening with a reported bullet wound near 55 Downer Avenue, the Boston Police Department said.

Officers from the Dorchester district were called the area of 55 Downer Ave. at about 8:06 p.m. for reports of a person shot.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, BPD said.

The Boston Police Department is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470.
