Boston police said a man got out of their car, took the dog and drove off. Officers were searching for a blue Honda sedan.

BOSTON - A dog that was stolen Monday on Beacon Hill has been found safe in Mattapan.

It happened just before noon in the area of Mt. Vernon and Walnut streets, not far from Boston Common. A dog walker named Dominic said he had just tied up Rose McNugget for about two minutes while they prepared for their walk.
