Donald Trump, Elizabeth Warren Twitter War Escalates
Pot shots at "goofy" senator playing "woman card" after volley of critiques on "dangerous policies," "racism, sexism, and xenophobia."
Boston, MA - The social media scuffle between U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is no closer to ending, as both sides ratcheted up the rhetoric Wednesday.
Massachusetts' far-left senator has been railing against Trump for some time, but sharpened her critique last week when it became clear Trump was en route to Republicans' presidential nomination.

That was one in a series of Warren tweets the senator said were meant to hold Trump accountable after a primary run-up that didn't seriously challenge his record or truth-telling. Warren fired off an acerbic series of tweets on college affordability, banking regulations and the minimum wage Wednesday.
"Your racism, sexism (and) xenophobia doesn't drive me nuts. It makes me sick. And I'm not alone," she wrote. "We get it... when a woman stands up to you, you’re going to call her a basket case. Hormonal. Ugly. ... Do you think you're going to shut us up?"
Trump fired back, zeroing in on the four-term senator's record, calling her "goofy" and "ineffective."

Some observers see Warren as a surrogate for the more restrained Hillary Clinton, vocalizing criticism the Democratic frontrunner can't or won't hurl at her likely general election competitor. Warren, for her part, has yet to endorse Clinton.
Tweets on both sides have garnered thousands of shares and "likes," captivating viewers as the politicians do gloves-off battle in public.
