Don't Miss Boston's Free Ferry Day
Free tickets to Spectacle or Georges Island will be available on a first come, first serve basis, starting at 8 a.m. Saturday.

BOSTON — Looking for a little weekend getaway? Free Ferry Day is back. To celebrate the park's anniversary and season opening on Saturday, Boston Harbor Islands is giving away free trips to Spectacle or Georges Islands.
You'll want to get an early start, though. Tickets will be available at the Long Wharf North Ferry Center starting at 8:00 a.m. and can't be reserved in advance. Each adult can snag up to 5 tickets to one of two islands.
History buffs won't want to miss Georges Island. When you arrive, you can enjoy a picnic, stop by the visitor center or take a ranger-guided tour of the historic Civil War-era Fort Warren. Don't forget to ask about the Lady in Black!

Outdoor enthusiasts will love all 114 acres of Spectacle Island. With an accessible lifeguarded beach and plenty of trails, it's the perfect spot for swimming, boating or hiking.
