BOSTON, MA—Dorchester Brewing Co. celebrated its grand opening Thursday in Boston after a ribbon-cutting and, we feel safe assuming, a couple rounds of locally brewed beer.
Only the second tap room within city limits, even the mayor stopped by before the brewery's opening day. Dorchester Brewing's tasting room and patio officially opened Thursday morning, part of a 25,000-square-foot facility at 1250 Mass Ave.
Dorchester Brewing Co. was founded to fill a gap in the craft brewing market "for local, small to medium-sized craft beer brands and regional brewers to produce their product in a predictable, high-quality, cost-effective manner if they didn’t have their own large-scale brewery," its site says. "So, naturally, we built an expensive, massive brewery with a pretty sweet tasting room so you don’t have to."

The brewery posted a sneak peek of its opening week drink menu online, and it's a doozy, beginning with a $12 standard tasting flight. The taps to start are all Dorchester Brewing Co. brand.
