Boston Police Officer And One Other Injured In Dorchester Crash

Officials are investigating an accident involving a police cruiser and a white SUV.

BOSTON — An on-duty police officer and one other person were injured in a crash early Monday morning, Boston Police said.

Neither person has been identified, but officials say the officer was responding to a shooting call in Dorchester when the crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Columbia Road. The collision left a police cruiser and a white SUV with heavy damage.

The officer's injuries are serious but not life-threatening, police said.
