Dorchester Hit With 4 Shootings In 10 Hours

One man was dead as police continued to investigate near Franklin Field Saturday morning as huge crowds gathered for the Carribean festival.

BOSTON, MA — The start of Boston's Caribbean festival Franklin Field in Dorchester Saturday morning was overshadowed by the fourth shooting in 10 hours in the neighborhood. In the latest shooting, a man was shot in the leg on Talbott Street. The first shooting happened late Friday night, when another man was shot in the leg on Ames Street, according to Boston police.

In between, two other men were shot, one of them fatally. At 3:40 a.m., a man was shot and killed at 91 Westview Avenue. A short time later, another man was shot on Talbot Avenue. The extent of that man's injuries were not immediately available.
