Drunken Driver Hits MassDOT Worker in Ted Williams Tunnel: Police
The driver allegedly fled the scene, only to be apprehended down the road.

Boston, MA - A MassDOT worker was seriously hurt early Monday morning inside the Ted William Tunnel, struck by an allegedly drunken driver who police say fled the scene.
State Police said the worker was on site on the westbound side of the Massachusetts Turnpike around 1 a.m. when he was hit.
The driver, Carlos M. Gonzalez, 59, of Boston, fled the scene, but was later arrested, according to police.

He was held Monday on a $25,000 cash bail, charged with causing serious bodily injury while operating under the influence, leaving the scene of a collision causing personal injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and other offenses.
The victim, a 60-year-old man, was transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's office said Gonzalez will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court today.
