Elizabeth Warren Had The Moment Of Debate — And Post-Debate

Sen. Elizabeth Warren thinks a woman can beat President Trump. A lot of the attendees at the Democratic Debate in Des Moines, Iowa, and viewers on social media agreed.

Warren again scored the moment of the debate Monday night while addressing the reported rift between her and Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Warren was asked about her statement from earlier in the day confirming a report that Sanders once told her a woman cannot be president. She immediately worked to squash a feud with her fellow progressive pal — "Bernie is my friend, and I'm not here to try and fight with Bernie," she said — before talking about whether a woman could indeed win the White House.

Some of the focus coming into the debate were possible cracks in the friendship between Warren and Sanders. It was reported over the weekend that the Sanders campaign told volunteers to paint his fellow progressive icon as being for the Democratic elites. Then the report emerged of Sanders telling Warren a woman couldn't become president in 2020, something he and his campaign flatly denied.

While they were cordial on television, a post-debate scene captured by cameras appeared to show a frosty exchange between the two. Warren ignored a Sanders handshake attempt and had something to say to him during what looked to be a tense moment.
