Emergency On Delta Flight; Fumes In Cabin Force Return To Boston
The Airbus A220 was met by emergency personnel in alignment with protocol, according to Delta.

BOSTON — An emergency was declared on a Delta flight Sunday out of Boston Logan International Airport due to fumes in the cabin, according to authorities.
Flight 1398 from Boston to New Orleans was delayed because a smoky odor was detected shortly after takeoff, according to Delta, forcing the plane to return to Boston. Takeoff was scheduled for 8:55 a.m. The crew reported fumes in the cabin and flight deck, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, which is investigating the incident.
An emergency was declared to get the flight priority handling from air traffic control and the Airbus A220 was met by emergency personnel in alignment with protocol, according to the airline, which said there were 92 people on board.

The plane returned safely around 9:35 a.m. and passengers continued their journeys later Sunday morning, according to Delta and the FAA.
