Emerson College Student Dies After Fight
Daniel Hollis, a Hopedale High School graduate from Mendon, hit his head on cement after being struck during a fight in Allston.

The Emerson College student who suffered major brain injuries after a post-party altercation died Wednesday night, his parents said. "Our beautiful boy’s journey ended this evening at approximately 5:32pm," Kate Hollis said in a website update.
A group of people Daniel Hollis was with early Saturday morning were involved in what his parents said was a "scuffle" with another group of young men in Boston. He hit his head on cement after being struck, his family said.
Hollis suffered a blood clot on his brain and was placed in a medically induced coma after surgery.

"He moved through the world with uncommon authenticity and humility," said Lee Pelton, president of Emerson College. "He had a generous heart. He was a giver, not a taker."
The altercation occurred around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on Park Vale Ave. Boston police are investigating, according to CBS Boston. No arrests have been announced.

Hollis, from Mendon, graduated from Hopedale High School. He was a goalie on the Lions' lacrosse team.
