'Patriots Day' Movie Poster Unveiled: First Look

Tell us what you think. Looking great, or a little too much?

The first promotional poster for Mark Wahlberg's upcoming Boston Marathon bombing movie is out, and it's nothing if not dramatic.

Unveiled Wednesday, it shows a shredded American flag made of shoe laces hanging over a stark, black background:

The movie was filmed in and around Boston, including at this year's marathon finish line on Boylston Street.

Only three years after the deadly attack, the film hits close to home for many. Although several towns welcomed the cast and crew, Patriots Day was prohibited from filming in Watertown, for example, where a police shootout with the bombers occurred. Wahlberg, with his strong local roots, has said he's endeavoring to "get it right" and honor those involved.

Patriots Day follows the story of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis in the events leading up to the bombing and the deadly manhunt that followed.
