Boston, MA - The Internet is weird, and politics is weird, and when you put the two together they produce a bizarro-delightful confluence of access and awkwardness.
Such was the case Wednesday, when Boston Mayor Marty Walsh opened up on Twitter under hashtag #AskMJW -- "Ask Martin J. Walsh."
Interactions ranged from the banal ("Where can we find a list of City Hall events?") to the serious, with questions about scaling tech companies and building bicycle infrastructure. But as anyone who's ever put themselves out there online could guess, questions also went a little off-topic. That's where things got fun, and even kind of real.
