Former Mob Boss Arrested In Boston: Report
The man has strong ties to the Colombo Crime Family.
BOSTON, MA — A former high-ranking New York Colombo crime family boss was arrested on Thursday, according to a report from WPRI12.
Ralph DeLeo, 82, has been on parole since 2024 before his arrest. His criminal history dates back to 1977 when he was convicted of murdering an Ohio doctor in 1977. His sentence for that crime was commuted after 12 years. In 2012, he pleaded guilty to charges of racketeering and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. DeLeo grew up in Boston before becoming a “street boss” for the Colombo family in the late 2000s.
Details of DeLeo’s most recent arrest have yet to be released. He has a detention hearing set for 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
