Back when it was still warm out, Matt, a Greenfield, Massachusetts, resident, was having a snooze on a lounger when a bear lumbered into his pool area. After a quick inspection of the water, the mighty mammal sauntered over to Matt, sniffed his foot and gave it a tap. Matt immediately woke up, startling the bear, which instantly took off.
“Matt was not scared, as it was running away when he grabbed his camera,” says Dawn, Matt’s wife. Thankfully, the entire encounter happened in front of the family’s Ring Security Camera, and thanks to their Ring Protect subscription, they were able to rewatch the footage after the fact on the Ring App.

“Matt was glad we had the Ring, as he figured no one would believe him until they saw it,” Dawn says. “Even he had to watch it again to believe it!”
Dawn was out of the house when Matt texted her about what had just happened. She thought he was joking, until Matt suggested that she check the Ring videos. “I looked and said OMG,” she says. “It’s true!”

While Matt and Dawn are glad that their Ring App allowed them to rewatch* the bear footage, the pair also enjoy the sense of safety their Ring Security Cameras help provide. “We love our Ring system,” says Dawn, “as it makes us feel safe when home or away knowing we can see what is happening around the house.”
