Grocery Stores Open On Thanksgiving In Massachusetts
Massachusetts law forces most stores to close Thanksgiving, but you have a couple options if you need last-second food shopping.

Thanksgiving isn't the day for last-second grocery shopping in Massachusetts. State laws restrict nearly all retailers from opening Turkey Day, meaning your options are limited if you procrastinated on the mashed potatoes.
Massachusetts is one of just three states — the others being Maine and Rhode Island — with such laws. They are in place to allow employees to spend time with family during the holiday.
Those same employees don't have to wait long to make up the time. Many retailers open in the wee hours of Black Friday, some as early as just after midnight.

But as far as Thursday food shopping goes, you are out of luck at places like Stop & Shop, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. The Targets and Walmarts of the world will also be closed.
Your best bet may be drugstore chains like Rite-Aid, Walgreens and CVS, though don't expect to be able to get anything at the pharmacies.

Even stores that are open could have limited hours. Wherever you think of trying to go, call ahead to make sure they are open.
And next year, don't procrastinate on the mashed potatoes.
