Juvenile Wanted On Charges Of Boston Police Car Fire Arrested

​The suspect tried to board a one-way international flight while he was wanted on an outstanding warrant, police said.

BOSTON — A juvenile who was wanted in connection to a Boston police car fire was arrested Friday in New York, police said.

The juvenile, who had an outstanding warrant on charges of arson of a motor vehicle and inciting a riot, was arrested in New York while attempting to board a one-way, international flight, police said.

Authorities in New York arrested the young person, who is under 18. Boston police traveled to New York to take custody.

The charges are in connection to a police car that was set on fire following a May 31 downtown Boston protest that followed the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody.

The young person was previously arrested and released in June, police said. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
