Key Massachusetts Coronavirus Indicators Continue To Fall

BOSTON — With the state readying the second phase of its four-phase reopening plan, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 789 new confirmed coronavirus cases and 50 reported COVID-19 deaths Saturday.

The daily report shows a continuing downward train for the indicators officials say the state will monitor as it moves to reopen the economy, including declines in positive test rates, hospitalizations and deaths.

As of Saturday, there have been 96,301 confirmed coronavirus cases since the first case was reported on Feb. 1. There have been 6,768 reported COVID-19 deaths since the first death on March 20.

Also on Saturday, DPH said it had conducted and additional 10,744 tests, bringing the total number of completed tests to 582,519.
