Landmark MA Restaurant Honored At World Culinary Awards
A Boston oyster house has found itself recognized with other American restaurants, including The French Laundry.
MASSACHUSETTS — It's not quite a threepeat, but the latest award for a landmark Massachusetts oyster house has cemented its place in the history of North American cooking.
Union Oyster House, the historical restaurant celebrating its bicentennial this coming year, has been honored by The World Culinary Awards as North America's Best Landmark Restaurant for 2025.
"I am deeply honored to receive this award on behalf of the Union Oyster House staff and our faithful patrons,” says Union Oyster House owner Joe Milano. “We are pleased to have received this award in 2020, 2024 and now in 2025 and are grateful to be considered a legend."

Officials with the restaurant say that, even before winning the award, the restaurant had plans to celebrate its bicentennial year in Boston.
At the World Culinary Awards, The French Laundry was deemed North America's best restaurant, while New York City and the United States were deemed the continent's best culinary city destination and best culinary destination, respectively.
