Although not a hit-and-run, the incident is still a tragic echo of another Dorchester case recently decided in court. In that case, an 18-year-old died after a drunk driver crashed into another vehicle. That driver pleaded guilty and was assigned up to 12 years in prison this week.
In Cambridge, residents are already mourning the death of a young woman killed while biking last week.
