Lori Loughlin, Husband Sentencing Date Set

BOSTON — A sentencing date has been set for actress Lori Loughlin and her fashion designer husband after both reached plea agreements in a college admissions scandal. Loughlin, the former "Full House" star, and Mossimo Giannulli, a clothing designer, will be sentenced Aug. 21 in federal court in Boston.

The couple pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges last week. Loughlin is set to serve two months in prison, while Giannulli is looking at five months behind bars.

Loughlin, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, also faces two years of supervised release, 100 hours of community service and a $150,000 fine. Giannulli, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and honest services wire and mail fraud, faces two years of supervised release, 250 hours of community service and a $250,000 fine.

Prosecutors agreed to drop the charges of money laundering and federal programs bribery. Those were added after the initial charges.

Loughlin and Giannulli were two of the highest-profile people charged in the wide-ranging scandal that saw parents scam and bribe their way to getting their children into prestigious schools. Loughlin and Giannulli were accused of paying $500,000 to get their daughters into the University of Southern California as crew recruits. Neither girl had played the sport.

Loughlin rose to fame as Aunt Becky on "Full House."
