MA Coronavirus: 4 More Deaths, Confirmed Cases At 777
There are now nine deaths related to COVID-19 after four more were announced Monday.

The number of deaths related to the new coronavirus in Massachusetts nearly doubled in a day, state health officials said Monday
The Department of Public Health said in its daily update four more people died from complications related to COVID-19, increasing the total to nine across the state.
The number of cases is now at 777 after 131 new ones were confirmed. Seventy-nine of the overall cases required hospitalization.

The cases continue to increase by more than 100 a day since testing has expanded and the virus continues to spread. There have been 8,922 tests.
There are 232 cases in Middlesex County, 154 in Suffolk County and 73 in Essex County.

Details regarding the new deaths were not immediately available. Mayor Marty Walsh said earlier Monday a second Boston resident had died from COVID-19.
Earlier Gov. Charlie Baker ordered all nonessential businesses to close and the DPH issued a stay-at-home advisory, both taking effect noon Tuesday until April 7.
