More than 115,000 remain without power hours into what is shaping up to be a crippling storm across Eastern Massachusetts.

The brunt of the storm's impact as of Saturday morning has been felt in Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod, areas expected to see the worst of it.

Provincetown has been 100 percent without power since the morning, and other Cape communities aren't far behind. In Barnstable, more than 18,000 are without power, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency.

The snow started falling before midnight in many places, intensifying in the early-morning hours. Most nonessential services announced they would shut down in anticipation of the storm, which has some wondering if a new snowfall record could be set.
