MA Weather: Flood Watch As Heavy Rain Moves In

A couple inches of rain should wash away the snow, but it also poses a problem for potential flooding.

The eastern part of the state could get 2-3 inches of rain.

Most of Massachusetts is under a flood watch as rain moves in Friday and intensifies into Saturday, creating the potential for 2-3 inches in much of the easter part of the state.

The rain will begin as scattered showers Friday afternoon, though it might come down as freezing drizzle across the interior part of the state. Heavier rain will fall later Friday night and intensify into Saturday morning, when forecasters say flooding could be an issue.

A wind advisory has also been issued for the Cape and Islands for Saturday. Wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour are expected.
