A year-ending wintry mix is looking more and more likely as a storm system makes its way to New England.

"Confidence is increasing that a wintry mix will impact our region," the National Weather Service said Friday.

The NWS said the storm is expected to start Sunday night and spill into Monday. It's too early to predict how much snow or freezing rain might fall, but it's almost certain to impact the Monday morning commute. Students and parents may also have to keep an eye on potential school closings and delays due to the timing.
