MA Weather: Timing Of Fiercest Winds, Expected Power Outages
The National Weather Service predicted "widespread" outages for Massachusetts as an unprecedented number of people work from home.

MASSACHUSETTS — Some of the fiercest winds of the year will peak Monday afternoon and remain unusually strong through the evening. The National Weather Service said gusts will be at their strongest between noon and 7 p.m., peaking as high as 70 mph between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
The NWS said "widespread power outages are expected." With most people still working from home, that could prove problematic. For those relying on power for medical issues and food stockpiles, it could be even worse.
Gusts are expected to reach 60-70 mph throughout the day Monday from Boston to Worcester to Taunton to Gloucester. The wind will begin relenting around dusk. See the charts below for the latest forecasts.
