MA Weather: When Snowstorm Leaves, And What Happens Next
The winter storm warning expires this afternoon, but get used to seeing the snow around town for the near future.

The good news for parents is that after as many as six straight days without school, classes should resume around the state Wednesday. The bad news is that while most of the snowfall is expected to end by late Tuesday morning, below-average temperatures will keep it around for awhile.
The winter storm warning expires at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Bands of snow are still making their way across Eastern Massachusetts, dropping a few more inches on already-snow-battered communities before shuffling offshore by noon. That will allow a full day's worth of cleanup — and likely means classes will resume for the hundreds of schools that canceled one or both of the last two days.
The wind will also keep up its wintry intensity through the morning, especially near the coast. That will begin winding down into the evening.

While temperatures will stay just above freezing, highs aren't expected to break 40 degrees anytime soon. That means slow melting for however much snow you got — more than a foot in parts of Eastern and Central Massachusetts and up to nearly 2 feet in the western part of the state.
Snow isn't in the forecast again until Friday, when showers are possible in the afternoon.
