Macy's Tree Lighting Illuminates Downtown Boston: SLIDESHOW

BOSTON, MA — Music, lights and (most importantly) Santa came to Downtown Crossing this Black Friday to kick off the holiday season.

The Downtown Boston Business Improvement District shared photos from the event, which was held Friday on Summer Street. The event was sponsored by Macy's. The event lit up DTX with Macy's annual tree-lighting, live musical performances, an appearance by Santa and more.

It's the first of many holiday events coming up, including tree lightings and their attendant festivities this week at Copley Square, Boston Common and on Comm Ave.
