BOSTON — It's Monday, Oct. 19. Here's what Patch has been covering in greater Boston and across Massachusetts.

Activist Domingos DaRosa said in court the move was just meant to draw attention to the addiction crisis in Boston.

But, First Lady Lauren Baker wasn't too keen on that attention. She called it "incredibly frightening" when the protest pushed to the edge of the lawn and activists dumped needles there.

"Obviously, I'm afraid it's going to cause some sort of physical harm to me and my family," Baker said. Read more

A woman chased a raccoon away from her young child last week after the animal attacked her young child leaving bite marks and scratches. After authorities found the raccoon described as lethargic, it tested positive for rabies. And in Worcester, an 11-year-old girl fought off some people who she said were trying to kidnap her. Police have arrested a 51-year-old Hudson man in connection with that.
