Former MIT Student Indicted in Alleged Rape of Sleeping BU Student
After allegedly entering a Boston University dorm, sexually assaulting a student, the former Boston resident was indicted on rape charges.

Boston, MA - After allegedly entering a Boston University dorm room and sexually assaulting a sleeping young woman, a former MIT student was indicted on charges of aggravated rape, among others, Tuesday.
A Suffolk County Grand Jury indicted Samson Donick, 20, on charges of aggravated rape, breaking and entering at night with the intent to commit a felony, burglary, and indecent assault and battery.
Donick, who now lives in Tiburon, Calif., allegedly entered a Boston University dorm last October, signed in along with three other non-BU students, all male, by two female students, around 2 a.m. About half an hour later, Donick allegedly left with one of the other young men, searching 10 different dorm rooms for a female acquaintance known by the other man.

During that time, the 20-year-old victim, who knew neither of the young men, awoke in her room to find Donick sexually assaulting her, prosecutors said. According to prosecutors, she confronted Donick, screamed, and he fled the scene.
Student testimony later confirmed Donick was at the dorm around that time and spent a longer time in one room, according to prosecutors. Additionally, the victim's description of her assailant reportedly matched Donick's.

At a hearing Wednesday, Donick was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail. He was also directed to turn over his passport, have no contact with the victim or witnesses and stay away from the BU campus. If he posts bail he must remain outside of Massachusetts until his next court appearance, which is June 22.
A trial date is set for Feb. 8, 2017.
