Manhole Fire Shuts Down Busy Boston Street
Both traffic and Green Line service will be impacted as crews work to clear the manhole fire on Huntington Avenue.
BOSTON — A fire broke out inside a manhole in Boston Friday, shutting down the busy street and putting a heavy pause on trolley service.
Fire crews responded to a report of a fire near 835 Huntington Ave., near the intersection with Parker Hill Ave.
The MBTA reported shutting down Green Line E Branch service at Brigham Circle "due to a power problem." Those riders were told to use Route 39 for alternative service to Heath Street.

Traffic around the area is expected to be backed up for a significant amount of time, police said.
No injuries have been reported.
