Man Charged In MA 12-Year-Old's Shooting Death
Walter Hendrick, 22, is facing charges related to improper storage of a gun and ammunition possession, Boston police said.
MATTAPAN, MA — A 22-year-old man is facing charges following the Thursday shooting death of a 12-year-old on Thursday afternoon.
Boston police responded to a report of a shooting around 2 p.m. Thursday along Fessenden Street in Mattapan. Police found a 12-year-old boy at the scene with a gunshot wound, and he died at a local hospital.
The shooting took place inside a triple-decker along Fessenden Street, police have said.

Boston police Thursday night said they arrested and charged Walter Hendrick, a Mattapan resident, on charges including improper storage of a firearm where someone under 18 could have access, unlawful possession of a gun and unlawful possession of ammunition.
Hendrick was set for an arraignment at Dorchester District Court on Friday.
