'Matty In The Morning' Returning To KISS-108, Will Make 'Announcement'
Matty Siegel and co-host Lisa Donovan have not been on the air since last week, but are set to return to their show on KISS-108 on Tuesday.
BOSTON — The host and co-host of Boston's most popular morning drive time radio show who have not been on the air since last week are set to return tomorrow morning with an "announcement" during the eight o'clock hour.
iHeartMedia, KISS-108's parent company, confirmed Monday that Matt Siegel would return to the show Tuesday and discuss his absence during the 8 a.m. hour. Billy Costa has been hosting "Matty In The Morning" Siegel and Lisa Donovan went radio silent early last week. Costa has only said Siegel and Donovan are dealing with "family matters" without elaborating further.
Alongside producers Justin Aguirre and Winnie Akoury, Costa barely mentioned the two, but fans are demanding answers.

"We really don't know what's going on and can't talk about it," Akoury said on their Aftershow podcast last week, adding that "We are not trying to keep anything from anybody. Whatever is going on has nothing to do with the three of us, and we don't even know what’s going on. We just know we're here to do our jobs."
KISS-108's family company, iHeart Media, has yet to make a definitive statement about the pair, who have been leading figures on the Boston airwaves for decades. Siegel, 72, has been hosting mornings at WXKS-FM since January 1981. Donovan joined him as a co-host in 2002.

"We do respect Matt and Lisa's privacy with whatever they're dealing with and we're trying to reiterate that everyone is healthy, so don’t be concerned about anyone's health or anything like that," Aguirre said.
Last May, Siegel "quit" the show following an on-air rant, only to return a day later.
"I had long, long conversations yesterday with the company, and the company said, 'Listen, man, do your thing. We'll get out of your way,'" Siegel, of Newton, said. "I didn't expect that and, so, I'm back."
He then went on to make a joke about Demi Lovato —the same kind of joke that prompted the reprimand that led to the previous morning's blowup. On both mornings, Siegel suggested he was being censored and that he was simply saying "what a lot of people were thinking."
A month later, co-host Rebekah "Bex" Maroun said she was leaving KISS-108 to move back to her native Philadelphia.
"When COVID hit, everything in my life sort of changed. I realized how much I missed my family and my friends and being surrounded by the people that I wanted to be close to," she said.
Maroun, who joined Kiss 108 in 2018, served as the co-host and executive producer of "Matty in the Morning."
