Microburst Near Boston Logan Halts Air Traffic At Airport
Dozens of flights are now delayed, both coming and going.

BOSTON — If you are heading out of town or picking someone up at the airport. Check their flight status twice before going to the airport. And then pack your patience. During that last afternoon thunderstorm, a microburst - or a sudden localized column of air - complete with a lightning show, prompted air traffic control at Logan Airport to ground planes until it passed. It also prompted officials to halt traffic heading into the airport, according to the National Weather Service and the folks over at the Weather Channel.
Even though it was replaced by a rainbow over Boston a bit later, it means dozens of delays for flights scheduled to depart as well as those scheduled to arrive.
