On Saturday, Oct. 4, New England’s leading designers showcased their creative talents during Modern Luxury’s To Live & Dine 2025 Gala at the Boston Design Center. The event raised $50,000 for Project Bread, the leading statewide food security organization in Massachusetts.

"To Live & Dine 2025 was an incredible opportunity to lift up our work in the Boston community, especially during times of uncertainty," says Shannon Healey, Director of Institutional Giving at Project Bread. "These funds will help us continue our mission to ensure people of all ages have reliable access to healthy food across Massachusetts. We are grateful for Modern Luxury’s partnership."

During the event, over 150 guests were transported into a coastal-inspired design destination paired with a culinary experience. The evening brought together designers, philanthropists and community leaders to raise awareness and funds for food insecurity across the Commonwealth. In a live auction, attendees bid on two trips for 6 to a villa in Tuscany with a winery tour donated by Podere La Pace owner Simone Maggione and partner Christopher Harrison. This was a record fundraising night for Podere La Pace in Boston.

“To Live and Dine celebrates the art of gathering—bringing together New England’s most talented designers and creatives to craft extraordinary tablescapes that inspire connection and community. This year, we’re thrilled to extend the experience with a public exhibit at the Boston Design Center, allowing everyone to share in the beauty and creativity that define this beloved annual event,” said Janelle Driscoll, Group Publisher of Modern Luxury Boston. "Each year, our tablescapes spark conversation, creativity, and community, all in support of a meaningful cause, and this year's beneficiary, Project Bread, is one that we are all so proud to highlight!”

Over 1 in 3 households in Massachusetts are experiencing food insecurity, according to the Greater Boston Food Bank. Beginning in 1969 with the first community-led Walk for Hunger, Project Bread has focused on driving systemic change through policy, prevention and partnerships.

Funds raised from To Live & Dine 2025 will support Project Bread's approach to ending hunger, including programs that connect families with food assistance resources, child nutrition initiatives that increase school meal participation, and policy advocacy efforts that work directly with lawmakers to pass legislation addressing food insecurity.

People experiencing food insecurity should call into Project Bread's toll-free FoodSource Hotline (1-800-645-8333), which provides confidential assistance to connect with food resources, including SNAP benefits, in 180 languages and for the hearing impaired.
