New Comm Ave Target Opens - And, Yes, It's Tiny

Like, really tiny.

BOSTON, MA— The new Target on Comm Ave opens today, and it's incumbent upon all reporters to remark upon the fact that it is small, really small.

What you're looking at is roughly 16,000 square feet at 860 Commonwealth Ave., a fraction of the size of your typical Target. For comparison, the Fenway Target down the street is around 160,000 square feet, spread across several floors.

At Packard's Corner, expect something more the size of an overgrown urban CVS store, but with a scaled-down version of a full-sized Target's offerings. It has fresh groceries (including grab-and-go foods), a health and beauty section, tech products and a small selection of what the company calls "basic apparel." Target Mobile is available there, as is Order Pick-up. Located near Boston University, its offerings are tailored to serve the college crowd.
