New Law Would Protect People Who Smash Car Window to Rescue a Trapped Pet
What do you think of the proposed legislation?

Boston, MA - The state Senate approved a bill Tuesday that would protect people who break into hot cars to free trapped animals, under certain conditions.
The bill, unanimously approved by the Senate, requires that passerby first check to see whether the doors are locked and make an effort to contact police or call 911. Essentially, this means if the new law passes, it requires that smashing a car window to rescue a pet only be used as a last resort.
The bill next goes to the state House of Representatives.
