Oath Craft Pizza Raises Millions, Plans Expansion

After serving up a $4.5 million funding round, Oath Craft is eyeing new territory.

BOSTON, MA — Boston pizza chain Oath Craft announced Tuesday it has closed on a $4.5 million funding round, and plans to use the proceeds to expand outside Massachusetts.

In the fast-casual chain's sights are locations including New York and Washington, DC.

Boston-based venture capital firm Breakaway led the Series A investment round that, according to Oath, brings its total funding raised to $9 million since the company began.

Breakaway Ventures President John Burns, in the press release, outlined a strategy that gets its edge through new technologies and by "embracing smaller footprints than traditional operators."

“We’re thrilled by the ongoing support from our investors, as this additional funding will allow us to execute our growth plans for the brand," Oath Craft Pizza’s President and Chief Operating Officer Rick Wolf said in a press release. “As the restaurant industry evolves to keep up with consumer tastes and preferences, Oath is proud to lead the pack in fast-casual craft pizza. We look forward to bringing our unique flavor combinations and exceptional crust to new guests in Boston and beyond.”

Oath Craft currently has four location: in Somerville's Davis Square, on Nantucket's Straight Wharf, on the square in Chestnut Hill, and at South Station, in Boston.
