Great news, one week after Boston Police critically injured in shootout.

BOSTON, MA — One week after two Boston police officers were critically injured by an East Boston gunman, one of the men had been released from the hospital.
The Boston Police Department said late Wednesday that Officer Richard Cintolo, a 27-year veteran of the force, was cleared to go home.
He and fellow officer Matt Morris were critically injured when a suspect in a domestic incident fired upon them inside an Orient Heights apartment. Fellow officers subsequently shot and killed the suspect, while others helped their injured brothers.

Both men underwent multiple rounds of surgery in the past week at Mass. General Hospital.
Cintolo is grateful for the community's support, and is happy to be home, BPD said.
In a tweet shared by the police, Commissioner William Evans said, “So happy to see Richie sent home. Matt’s getting better. Thanks again to everybody for all the support & prayers."
