One Dead in Early Morning Dorchester Fire
The fire was at the former Girls' Latin Academy building on Talbot Avenue.

Boston, MA - One woman was killed in an early morning fire in Dorchester.
The Boston Fire Department responded to a single-alarm fire at the former Girls' Latin Academy building at 380 Talbot Avenue shortly before 4 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The fire was contained to one apartment on the second floor of the three-story, brick 54-unit apartment building, according to the Boston Fire Department.

When emergency crews arrived, they found one woman in the apartment who was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital.
She was later pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center. The cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

It is the second fire fatality in Boston this year, according to the Boston Fire Department.
The total damage to the building was estimated at $250,000.
Other residents of the building were moved to other areas of the large building during the fire, and many of them have now returned to their apartments.
There were no other injuries due to the fire and its cause is under investigation.
