One of Six Fugitive Sex Offenders Captured: State Police

Massachusetts State Police added six names to its 'Most Wanted' sex offenders list Friday. That same night, one was arrested.

BOSTON, MA—One of six names can now be struck from Massachusetts State Police's list of Most Wanted Sex Offenders, after an arrest Friday night.

Reggie C. Ellenwood, 58, was arrested at the Pine Street Inn in Boston where he was staying, according to State Police. He was taken into custody around 7 p.m. by Longwood Security officers, who provide security for the shelter, then turned over to the nearby Boston Police precinct.

Ellenwood was convicted in 1992 on eight counts of child rape and six counts of indecent assault and battery involving two pre-teenage girls he sexually assaulted repeatedly for an extended period of time, State Police said. He was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender, required by law due to that conviction.
