Paraplegic Motivational Speaker Jorge A. Sierra Celebrates Giving Tuesday by Sponsoring Student Scholarships
Following Inspiring Blue Hills School Presentation, Sierra Reflects on the Gift of Second Chances and Announces New Support for Students

BOSTON, MA – December 2, 2025 – On Giving Tuesday, a global day dedicated to generosity and investing in community, motivational speaker Jorge A. Sierra is expanding his impact by sponsoring scholarships for students as part of his ongoing mission to uplift the next generation. Fresh from his powerful presentation at Blue Hills Regional Technical School yesterday, Sierra is emphasizing the importance of creating opportunities that help young people envision a future filled with hope and possibility.
"Giving Tuesday is a time to give your story and your truth to make a difference," says Sierra. "Yesterday at Blue Hill School, I had the privilege of sharing my journey with students who may be facing their own struggles. If my story can help even one young person make a different choice than I did at their age, that's the greatest gift I could give."
At age 17, Jorge Sierra's life was forever changed when he was gunned down due to his former affiliation with gangs, leaving him paraplegic. What could have been the end of his story became the beginning of an extraordinary transformation. Over the next 24 years, Sierra completely rebuilt his life, becoming a Licensed Master Barber, Class I Cosmetologist, and certified Instructor and Evaluator in multiple states – all while navigating life in a wheelchair. Now, he dedicates his life to giving back by sharing his transparent story of triumph and perseverance with students across the nation.

In addition to his presentation at Blue Hills School on December 1st—which captivated students with his honest account of the consequences of his choices, the mental shift that saved his life, and the steps he took to rebuild—Sierra is deepening his commitment to youth empowerment by sponsoring scholarships that will support students pursuing career and technical education. This new initiative reflects his belief that access to opportunity can be life-changing, especially for young people navigating adversity.
"The students at Blue Hill School gave me their attention, their questions, and their openness. That's a gift in itself," Sierra adds. "On Giving Tuesday, I'm reminded that we all have something valuable to give. For me, it's showing young people that no matter where you've been or what you've been through, you have the power to change your story."

Sierra hopes his scholarship initiative will inspire individuals, businesses, and organizations to invest in youth and education in their own ways. He emphasizes that acts of generosity—whether sharing resources or sharing one’s truth—can create ripple effects that change lives.
